Meet me at this brief 9 Types Event below, where I'm the convener and Type 4 presenting "Using My Powers for the Good. " All 9 Presenters are noble examples of the good folk in our community.
For over 25 years, Dale has been known in the Portland community for his skill as a counselor and teacher of personal insight tools like the Enneagram - a powerful framework for understanding why we do what we do. Many of us have seen first hand how working with our most fundamental motivation opens the door to a healthier, more resilient, and - I'll say it - joyous relationship with ourselves and everyone we know. Via a mix of luck and choice, some of us have been doing this work for decades - but does it all have to be 'work'? Can understanding ourselves in a more fundamental way be fun...and funny? As a person who is naturally drawn more to work than play, my answer is an emphatic yes.
We've collaborated with Dale twice to host two 50+ person birthday events that mixed teaching, video, and small group activities that were a delightful mix of laughter and lightbulbs turning on. Dale led us and our friends through an accessible, lightly held experience that had people buzzing with a new curiosity about themselves and people they care about. Over drinks and snacks, several attendees asked me where they could get 'more like this.
There is magic inside each of us that can stay hidden in our busy, stressful lives. For your next celebration or work event, ask Dale about an Insight Party and give your friends and colleagues a new window into the amazing aspects of ourselves that are right under the surface.

Our Enneagram workshop with Dale was incredibly valuable to our staff, both in terms of increasing individual self-awareness, and in terms of deepening group cohesion. Our staff all work closely together, and so feeling connected to and understood by each other's co-workers is essential to being able to guide the transformative work we do with our clients and guests. Our Enneagram staff workshop with Dale has given us a shared language and set of tools for further developing our self-awareness, improving our communication with each other and with guests, and deepening our sense of connection to each other and to the work of this organization. Both online and in-person, Dale was an incredible teacher and facilitator with remarkable integrity, compassion, and humor, expertly guiding our staff group towards a deeper and more nuanced understanding of how we communicate and work together as a community. We're looking forward to further developing these skills with him!

We asked Dale to teach the Enneagram at our law firm as an end-of-year team-building activity. We are small firm and partnership, and the relationships we have amongst ourselves are our strongest asset – and could become our greatest risk. Thus, it was infinitely worth our time and resource to work with Dale as he navigated us away from naming our idiosyncratic behaviors toward identifying paths and patterns that categorize our individual values and strengths. I loved and admired each of my partners going into this training – and understand and respect them even more coming out of it. If you are considering a group activity for your team – I highly recommend Dale Rhodes and this training.
